1) if you ever have a brilliant idea, just add the words IN SPACE, and voila! instant genius.

2) i was taking a break at work a few days ago, and i checked out the 'new moon' review post on ontd. someone was wondering how movie critics were going to react to 'breaking dawn', and how roger ebert's only response to it would be "WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN..." so then i pictured that quote across the top of the poster and lol'd for a little while.

3) my computer is making weird noises.

4) i'm like a year late on this, but look how precious and abusive their love was :(

5) i'm trying to find christmas presents for myself, to help my mom out since i'm apparently a nightmare to buy for (lies). and i was very sad to discover that 'aladdin' and 'the lion king' went back into the vault, so i can't find them for a decent price. dammit, disney, why must you be so difficult? i just want to have a pretty collection of disney movies, okay.

i feel so accomplished! when i was a kid, we had this christmas cassette that i used to listen to over and over, because i absolutely loved just one song, "the first noel". obviously the cassette died, and i've been searching for that damn song for years now. i finally figured out it was disney-related, and scoured amazon for all their christmas stuff, and I FOUND IT.

and guess what? the singer was MOLLY RINGWALD. wtf forever. my mum thought it was sung by the girl who played annie in the original play back in the 80s, so that's why i was searching for the wrong thing all these years. and then she didn't even understand why i was so happy, she was just like "awww, that's nice" even though that song was, like, my childhood christmas memory.

MOLLY RINGWALD. i still don't get it.

and first note of totally unrelated: i hate how long it takes me to get comfortable around new people. i am the poster child for the socially awkward. i wish there was a crash course offered in HOW NOT TO BE SHY, but then i think i'd be too shy to participate. i have problems :(

second note of totally unrelated: i actually hate stans. i mean fan stans, not guys who are named stan. it shouldn't be that hard to admit when someone you like messed up or when something doesn't make sense (you know, like rigged award shows). idk, it's not as much fun to hang around on omona nowadays, not when half the comments make me want to stab someone in the jaw. it was always ontd-lite, but now there's an awful lot of stupid drifting in off the internet byways, which is to be expected i guess. and yet i still love it and won't break the habit of visiting. le sigh.

oh, and 'star trek'? still awesome. i bought it today (along with the first series of 'skins', which was randomly at wal-mart), and watched it once i got home. argh, why can't i work on a starship? WHY IS TECHNOLOGY SO SLOW? it's really unfair. i want to live in space.

i had to do safety training at work today, except it wasn't so much training as it was this guy talking at us for six hours. i tried to nap, but it was too awkward. so instead, i wrote half my admissions essay and drew this picture of myself:

my eternal pain

the boots represent my soul.

i went to see the new 'christmas carol' movie last night. it was...okay. the animation was nice, but it didn't give me warm fuzzies the way the muppet version does. or even the one with mickey mouse and scrooge mcduck. the angry film reviewer in my newspaper was like "CLEARLY THE DEFINITIVE VERSION IS THE ONE FROM 1951" which is a lie. because there were no puppets in it. i've actually never seen it, but still.

aaaand i watched the first ep of 'you're beautiful' today because it looked cute. and it is so so so cute. except, wtf, why do korean dramas have such long episodes? an hour and ten minutes is a disney movie not a tv show. i'm looking for mp4s to put on my ipod, although i don't think it's a good idea to watch funny stuff during my lunch break. i was watching 'how i met your mother' on friday and almost choked on my sandwich because i started laughing. everything i do is hazardous.

work is fine, except for the ~interesting~ people who wander in off the streets. some guy came in, high as a kite, and told us all about how he'd quit smoking and how awesome it is to quit smoking. and then he started waxing poetic about how our brains never stop learning, EVEN UNTIL THE DAY WE DIE. it was so dramatic. i'm pretty sure that when he stopped smoking cigarettes, he just took up pot instead.

luckily, no one talks to me, i just sit behind my desk, scanning stuff. my life is average.

...wow, i'm so boring. here's a picture of a baby sloth to make up for it.
